Contaminated Land - New Requirements Forum

This Forum considered the impact that the Assessment of Contaminated Sites National Protection Measure (ACS NEPM) changes that will have on various stakeholders including consultants, landowners and local government. The Forum covered: Changes to the ACS NEPM's reference papers; Estimated impact of the ACS NEPM; Overview of the legal risk of managing contaminated land and transfer liabilities; and Contaminated soil management options.

Incident and Emergency Action and Reporting Laws

A forum and workshop which dealt with new pollution, safety and emergency reporting and incident response legislation recently introduced in NSW. The forum focussed on views from government, stakeholders and experts on the new requirements. The workshop covered environmental laws on immediate reporting, incident response and publication of monitoring data.

Over 50 members and guests attended an SBA Bio-CCS Insights Briefing in Sydney by senior KPMG specialists who helped to demystify the Australian Government's Sustainability Grants and R&D Tax Incentives, following the Government's introduction of the Carbon Pricing Mechanism and several new grants programs.

Carbon Training International offered a two-day training course in Sydney as part of their Carbon Management Masterclass series. Also scheduled for other capitals and regional centres in February/March, the course helped public and private sector managers, small business owners and finance/business analysts to deliver tangible business benefits through energy efficiencies.
